When shopping Germans like their stores neat!! In Germany there are not many supermarkets. Instead their are carts each with their own little specialty of things like departments in a grocery store. This is because Germans like stuff in neat rows of easy to navigate areas. When it comes to store hours, it is very strict. Shops cannot open any earlier that 6 AM. they also must close precisely at 8 PM. In larger cities, shops may stay open until 9 on any weekday. The shops may only be open Monday through Saturday and cannot open at all on Sundays. Many centuries old markets that are open air are held once or twice weekly. that are set up like the markets where Germans get their food.
